| Supporting PISF The Pasadena Independent Schools Foundation exists to educate our children to the benefits of philanthropy. PISF is an hands-on interactive learning program that provides direct practical experience to our participants.PISF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization; we need your contribution to continue our mission. There are two ways to help: |
| volunteer Donate your time and talents to PISF. Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to volunteer. Opportunities include: Grant Awards Dinner Committee – Next year our grant awards dinner will honor 16 grantees and likely have over 300 people in attendance. The dinner is April 12th 2011. We are in need of volunteers to help plan and execute this event. Site Visit Chaperones – We will be visiting 16 charities next year for site visits. We have school chaperons for each program track but this year would like to add one or two parent chaperons as well. This way we guarantee we have enough supervision if there is an absence or scheduling conflict with one of our educators. Fundraising – The board raises approximately $1,000 per student per year to operate the program (2010/2011 will have 150 participating students). We are looking for new board members who can help with fundraising, as well as make introductions to local business who would be interested in sponsoring the program. Any support or ideas on how to support the program would be appreciated. Administrative Support – This summer we will be scheduling all site visits, and producing the calendar for next year, coordinating with all of the schools and volunteers. We will also need be preparing for the Kick-Off meetings in September including producing the participant handbooks for the coming year. We are looking for a volunteer(s) that can give us 5-10 hours a week to help with these. We love our volunteers and could not operate without them.
